We love celebrating International Clinical Trials Day!
Last year, we took a trek through history with our History Of Clinical Research timeline, describing events dating back as far as ~500 B.C.E. This year, we began to truly embrace the "international" part of the celebration, by joining research colleagues in the U.K. in their #WhyWeDoResearch tweet fest and by highlighting the new movement from Australia #WhyClinicalTrialsMatter.
We also joined forces with the U.S.-based nonprofit group Center for Information and Study on Clinical Research Participation, better known as CISCRP, to create an interactive display of results from their global Perceptions and Insights Study. Please allow me to introduce Annick, our CISCRP contact:
Hi, my name is Annick Anderson. I am the Associate Director of Research Services at CISCRP, an independent non-profit organization dedicated to engaging the public and patients as partners in the clinical research process. We are excited to share the results of the latest CISCRP Perceptions & Insights survey! More than 12,000 people worldwide completed the 2015 survey, making this study the largest global assessment of clinical research attitudes, perceptions, behaviors and experiences among the public and patients ever conducted. CISCRP's 2015 Perceptions & Insights Study provides valuable and substantive insights into actionable ways that clinical research stakeholders can better understand and more effectively engage with the public and study volunteers.
