Every morning, Elanco team members pull on their boots, high heels or reasonable flats with a fierce determination and passion for their “why.” Our “whys” are the heart of our ambition, drive and, ultimately, our success. Without our “why,” our careers would be a means to an end, but they’re so much more.
As we move forward into 2016, it would be irresponsible not to reflect on our work and milestones in 2015. Each
“why” has motivated us to enrich lives through food and companionship. From delivering protein-packed eggs into waiting hands to partnering with Heifer International’s East African Dairy Development to help families become self-reliant in Honduras, we’ve worked tirelessly to make the world a more food-secure
But we’re more than food security. We say goodbye to our loyal companions each morning so we can ensure all pets can live the longest, fullest lives possible. Whether supporting Canine Assistants or Canine Unwind, our team sees firsthand the value pets add to our lives. It’s not our job—it’s our cause.
Science continues to show us that human health is closely tied to both food and companion animals. Jeff Simmons, president of Elanco, discussed this link, the importance of science-based governance, and unveiled an aggressive eight-point plan for antibiotic stewardship when he represented the industry at the White House Forum on Antibiotic Resistance this year.
The global population is on track to surpass more than 9 billion people by 2050. By giving science-based information on how innovation, choice, access and nutrition can help make a food secure world a reality, we’re creating opportunities for advocates around the world to take action today that will help feed the future. Chew on this: Our passionate team released a new ENOUGH report to elevate the dialogue around the balance of producing more food while preserving resources.
We’ve made stupendous strides this year and have established a solid foundation built among unprecedented change and growth. Elanco looks forward to rewarding work to come in the new year!
