LinkPad: DC abuzz on Innovation


Washington is all abuzz about innovation! Today’s LinkPad rounds-up the discussion around town that links innovation, the biopharmaceutical industry, jobs, the US economy, and global competitiveness.

  • Thursday, Lilly sponsored the Washington Post Live's conference "Advancing Medical Innovation" at the Ronald Reagan Center. Panel topics included STEM and Scientific Literacy, Fostering Innovation and Job Growth, and On the Edge of Change.
  • The Information Technology and Innovation Forum hosted a discussion of a new book written by ITIF President, Robert Atkison, and Senior Analyst, Stephen Ezell, entitled Innovation Economics: Race for the Global Advantage.
  • Next week, John Castellani, president and CEO of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), will address the National Press Club on how policies that support innovation act as a key component of the nation's health and economic future, the questions that face policymakers today, and the importance of biopharmaceutical researchers for the U.S. and the world.
